In the Autumn of 1999 the Triumph Roadster Club organised an outing to
Brooklands Museum.
It turned out to be a very pleasant day with 14 Roadsters in attendance. The event was shared with the Post Vintage Humbers Club and ther Maserati Club.
After a picnic lunch we wandered around the Museum . Then there were the aircrafts such as a second world war bomber which was rescued from the bottom of Loch Ness and a bouncing bomb similar to one used in the Dam Busters.
Naturally the highlight of this event was when we had a bash on the banked circuit. For me it was not uneventful, as the pictures show.
The maximum speed I was doing was 45 mph . I do not think that many were doing as much as 50 mph. There certainly was no evidence of overtaking, nor were there any collisions.
"Terry Mistry provided the necessary drama of the occasion by getting a puncture after joking about needing new tyres for racing.” ( JQ )
“Several members provided assistance for the necessary tyre change at the bottom of the banking lending authenticity to the scene and plenty of action for the photographers.” (JQ)
